A direct cremation is a simple cremation without a service or mourners present. Your loved one is cared for with dignity, the cremation takes place, and the ashes are either returned to you or scattered, depending on your wishes. Many families choose this option because it allows them to say goodbye in their own way and at a time that feels right.
A standard direct cremation is unattended. However, at Memoria we offer options for a small, private farewell at the crematorium if you wish to be present. This means you can still have a moment of reflection without the cost or formality of a traditional funeral.
Our direct cremation costs start from £1,145, with no hidden fees. The price includes collection, care, cremation, and the provision or scattering of ashes. Optional extras, such as hand delivery of ashes, are also available.
All cremations are carried out at one of Memoria Funerals crematoria across the UK. While it may not always be the nearest to your home, you can be assured the same high standard of care at every location.
After the cremation, we can return the ashes to you in a simple container, arrange hand delivery, or scatter them in the crematorium’s gardens of remembrance. We’ll discuss the options with you so you can choose what feels most meaningful.
